Adrian Smith

Adrian Alden Smith,91, of Newburgh, IN passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 9, 1929, in McLeansboro, IL to the late Ralph and Rosa (Cotter) Smith.

Adrian graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1947 and was a 1953 graduate from SIU. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. 

While Adrian was overseas in Germany, he mailed a poem to his loving wife Carol. I know your heart is lonely and you know that mine is too but what is there this side of the earth that you, or I can do. He loved to go out to eat with Carol, play golf, and watch her line dance. Adrian loved to do crossword puzzles, watch football, basketball, and western shows.  

He is survived by his daughter, Janet Jones (Dan); son, Eric Smith (Erika); brothers; Harold, Buell, Phillip, Michael, sisters; Vivian and Jean; grandchildren, Adam and Lindsey Smith.

Adrian was preceded in death by his wife, Carol F. Smith, parents, and siblings; Venita, Lowell, and Cameron. 
There will be no visitation or service at this time per the family request.
