Bernice L. Koch, 100, born September 28, 1915, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Healthcare in Girard, IL. Miss Koch was born in Elberfeld, IN. After graduating from Elberfeld High School, she attended Lockyear College of Business. She worked in Evansville for a while, then moved to Florida and worked in a bank for a number of years. She then moved to Washington, DC and worked for the Civil Aeronautics Board until she retired. In November of 2012 she moved to Girard. Miss Koch was preceded in death by her parents, William and Selma Koch and her sister, Pauline Oxby. She is survived by her nephew, William Oxby (Denise) of Elberfeld; niece, Brenda Henze (Robert) of Girard and great niece, Courtney Garau (Sam) and two great-great nieces and great-great nephew, Emilynn, Alisynn and Samuel of Evansville. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd. & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, IN (812) 983-4211. Rev. Steve Oeth will officiate with burial to follow in Nobles Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
