Betty Ann Lasher, Newburgh

Betty Ann Lasher, 85, most recently of Hephzibah, GA and previously of Newburgh, IN, passed away peacefully in Georgia on May 13, 2025.

Betty was born on November 17, 1939, in Newburgh Indiana to her parents Victor Oscar Smith and Josephine Katherine (Herr) Smith. Betty graduated from Newburgh High School, and immediately after married her soulmate, Richard, and began her life as a loving wife and homemaker.

Betty was a lifelong Catholic, hailing originally from the saint John Parish in Newburgh. She loved reading, playing games on her phone, and especially spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a sweet and special lady, and will be dearly missed by all.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Richard Lasher; and three of her sons, Timothy, Jeffrey, and Daniel.

She is survived by her children, Pamela (Kevin) Nissley, Kevin Lasher, Richard (Andy Briggs) Lasher, and Randy (Angie) Lasher; her sister, Martha Smith of Newburgh; her brother, James Smith of Elberfeld; and many cherished 4-legged grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass in Betty’s honor will be held on Thursday. May 22nd, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church 625 Frame Rd Newburgh IN. A visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel 510 W Jennings St Newburgh IN.
