Brent J. Kellams, 56, of Newburgh, IN passed away at 6:48 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by his family. Brent was born in Jasper on February 15, 1963 to R. Thomas and Esther (Bartley) Kellams. He married Jeannie (Brochin Julian) on October 12, 2002. He graduated from JHS in 1981 and Purdue University in 1985. Brent currently worked at Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. With his wife he was part owner in Cleo's Bakery in Newburgh and worked as bookkeeper for the business. He was involved in the family farm and business for many years. Brent also worked at Jasper Electric Motors for several years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Jeannie Kellams of Newburgh; parents Tom and Esther Kellams; his sister, Cheryl Sermersheim (Mike); brother, Brian Kellams (Rhonda), all of Ireland; stepsons, Nathan Julian of Newburgh, Adam Julian (Maria) and their son Oscar of Banner Elk, North Carolina and Jonathon Julian of San Mateo, California; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Emma Bartley and Robert and Juanita Kellams. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. (CST) at Titzer Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10 a.m. (CST) at St. John the Baptist Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN preceded by an hour of viewing at the church. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Ireland, Indiana, Friday at 3 p.m. (EST). Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
