Listen to Obituary

Bryce R. Fussner, 34, of Newburgh, Indiana was taken from us suddenly on August 4, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1992, in Evansville, Indiana to parents, Clint Fussner and Earika (Hinton) Mayes.

Growing up, Bryce spent nights at Skate World, weekend paintball tournaments, and enjoyed anything with a motor that went fast. He was a dedicated employee to Maken Corp. for over 20 years; starting out at 14 years old just mowing grass. However, Bryce’s greatest joy and proudest role in life was being a dad to his son, Ryder Fussner. Bryce was a loving and supportive partner to his fiancée, Cara Calhoun, for over 7 cherished years, where they were building a loving life full of new adventures with Ryder together.

Anyone that knew Bryce would agree he was a little rough around the edges, but he had the biggest heart and would drop whatever he was doing to help another. He was known for being a jack of all trades. Bryce was a wild soul with a loving heart, who loved his family, and never knew a stranger. He has finally rejoined his maternal grandfather, Robert Hinton, paternal grandparents, William (Bill) and Hope Fussner, along with his best friend who was like a brother to him, Dylan Cleveland, as well as the rest of those that he loved who passed before him.

The lives left behind feel the significant impact of his loss, especially his son, Ryder Fussner, and fiancée, Cara Calhoun, who were with him until the end; His mother and stepfather, Earika and Jeff Mayes; His father and stepmother, Clint and Anita Fussner; sister, Tiffany (Zach) Absher; nieces and nephews, Cruze, Raelynn, and Quinn Absher; Grandmother, Joyce Hinton. These are just a few along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that will feel the loss of such a caring soul. Words cannot express the grief and loss felt by those he left behind, but comfort can be found in the memories and kind words shared by those that he loved, and his legacy will live on in all those that were touched by his helping hand and giving heart.
