Carolyn F.(Besing) Gill, age 90 years old, passed from this life into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on October 16, 2021. She was born August 15, 1931to the late Vernie and Edith (Scholz) Besing.
Upon completion of Elberfeld High school, Carolyn met John C. Gill of Princeton, KY and they were united in marriage on October 21, 1950 at St. John's Church of Buckskin. After living in a few small rental locations in Warrick County, Carolyn and John settled on 10 acres of her father's farm until her passing. She was a dedicated wife and mother that prioritized her time for family. She loved her flowers and gardening. In her early years she was a stay at home mom and a master seamstress that regularly made clothes for her kids. As the kids grew older she became more independent. Carolyn was a bookkeeper for Canteen, prepared Sunday Bulletins for Buckskin Church, and also a school bus driver for Elberfeld Elemetary, and Tecumseh High School.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John C. Gill, daughter, Treva (Gill) Miller, son, Mark Gill, daughter, Susan (Gill) Barclay, son, John A. Gill, 6 grandkids, and 7 1/4th great grandkids, siblings; Margaret Tyring, Clenneth Besing, sister in laws, Elizabeth (Shirley) Besing and Beverly (Young) Besing. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Besing and brother in law Leon Tyring.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at
St. John's Church of Buckskin, 8260 E 900 S, Buckskin, IN 47647 and burial to follow at the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm St. Elberfeld, IN (812) 983-4211 and beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church of Buckskin until the time of service.
