Carolyn Sue Lewis Bradley passed away on January 1, 2023, after a brief illness. Born April 5th, 1938, in Posey County, Indiana to John and Beulah (Stiff) Lewis. She is survived by her children Rebekah (Larry) Hodge, Melinda Mitchell, Melissa Bradley, David Bradley, Deana (Jim) Jackson, Janette (Aaron) Davis. Her siblings, Robert Lewis, Delores Boyer, Gerald (Gloria) Lewis, Ronald (Sue) Lewis, Donald (Linda) Lewis. Also surviving are grandchildren, Alan Bradley, Erik and Chris Wongler, Jonathan and Natalie Mitchell, Micheal and April Cannon, Autumn, Derrick, Ashley, Roman, and Mary Bradley, Benjamin Church, Morgan Church Fender, and Dillon Davis, and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister-in-law Phyliss Lewis, brother-in-law Donald Boyer, Jerry Wynn, William Bradley, and the light of her life, son, Curtis Bradley.
Carolyn retired from Quality Coating Paint, Inc. in 2003, after 18 years. On New Year’s Day, Carolyn gained her angel wings by starting her New Year with eternal life in Heaven. Carolyn loved her family dearly. She had been the primary caregiver for her mother. She enjoyed gatherings with her siblings, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn’s joy and pride was evident when she spoke about her children; she always bragged about them. Nothing brought more peace to Carolyn than knowing they were happy and safe.
Carolyn loved plants; she had a “green thumb” and loved cooking. She enjoyed her daughters’ stories about their lives. In recent years, she spent time with her sister in Bible Study, growing closer to God. She was a strong, kind, brave woman. She encouraged her children to follow their dreams and passions. She was always their greatest cheerleader. Carolyn loved simple pleasures of life-phone calls from loved ones, silly jokes, her sweet kitty, watching soaps and making friends wherever she went. Her greatest pleasure in life was being a mother.
