Carolyn Sue "Susie" (Algaier) Hess, 66, of Boonville, Ind., passed away, Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at home. She was born December 25, 1947, in Evansville, to Joseph John and Dorothy M. (Daugherty) Algaier. Susie loved to watch NASCAR racing, IU Basketball, bird watching, making crafts, cook for her family and she loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Susie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Alvin L. Hess, Jr.; son, Joe Smith of Boonville; daughters, Monica (Shelley) Smith (Ron Evans) of Boonville, Julie Nugent (Pat Murphy) of Evansville, Lindy Enlow (Kenny) of Boonville, Krista Dunigan (Steve) of Ft. Branch, Audra Turner (Glenn Hammers) of Boonville; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Norris (Larry) of Springfield, IL, Theresa Winters (Terry) of Newburgh; one brother, Ronald Sandleben (Donna) of Evansville. A Funeral Service will be held 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2014, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314, Pastor Ed Heatherington will officiate. Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
