Carolyn S. Wathen

Carolyn S. Wathen, 77, of Newburgh IN passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Irvine, KY on October 23, 1947 to James Paul and Georgia Mae (Moore) Perry.

Carolyn was a phlebotomist for many years at Porro Labs, and a Pathology Transcriptionist at St. Mary’s Medical Center until she retired. She was married to her husband, Michael Wathen, for 43 years and loved her family very much. She will be remembered fondly and missed by all those who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Michael Wathen; daughter, Kelli Market (Tony Sipes); stepsons, Scott Wathen (Melissa) and Todd Wathen (Karen); step grandchildren Jacob and Veronica Wathen, Allison Keen (Bryant), Alex Henson (Alaina), Austen Henson, Asher and Ayden Wathen; step great grandchildren Bekham, Bennett and Anistyn Keen and Callie, Hollyn and Ellsie Henson; siblings Gene Perry, Alice Hancock (Larry), Paul Perry (Diana) and Debbie Wilkins (Mike).

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Heather Renee Market; husband, Harold Eugene Market; and her sister, Rita Stallings.

A private prayer service will take place in the days to come, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
