Cora Lee (Bice) Grant, 80, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at her home in Yankeetown. She was born October 10, 1934, to Henry Taylor and Ann Elizabeth (Bingle) Bice. Cora worked at the Evansville State Hospital in Rehab Therapy for many years, she also enjoyed a career in the sewing industry for 20 years, and was a musician all her life. She loved being a Boy and Girl Scout leader; and she enjoyed oil painting. Cora's favorite instrument was the dulcimer; she hosted numerous annual music festivals at Grant's View featuring Bluegrass, Folk, Country, and Gospel; she appreciated all the musicians that played at the festivals; and she also headed up the Bluegrass Festival at Angel Mounds for some 7 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Marvin Bice. Cora is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bennie Grant; children, Yvonne Loehrlein (Chris), Vivian Grant, Sandra Hatfield, Marty Grant, Randy Grant; grandchildren, Rachel Walters, Angela Staggs, Shawn Lannan, Leslie Slingerland, Carla Ruff, Grant Loehrlein; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Sherlon McMutchan (Roy). A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Burial will follow at Bates Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m., Monday and 10 am to service time, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
