Debbie Mahmoud Brummett

Debroah (Debbie) Brummett, born March 29,1953, died December 28, 2017.  She was born blind and deaf.  At age 5 she went to the Perkins school for the blind until age 18. Then to Clovernook school for the blind until age 21. Then she went to a group home where she worked making things like brooms and binding books. In Boston where she lived she was called the Second Helen Keller... She meet Robert Kennedy, Helen Keller and Anne Bancroft.  As a child her best friend was her brother Jerry (Gordon).  He helped her and taught her a lot until she went to live at Perkins school for the blind.  In Cincinnati, Ohio she worked for Easter Seals Tristate.

She is preceded by death her father, Robert Brummett; mother, Rosalea Brummett; and brother-in-law, David Browning.

She is survived by brothers, Jerry Gordon Brummett (Marty), Johnny Brummett, Robert Brummett II; sisters, Roberta Boyle (Stephen), Christina Browning, Roxanne Brown; nieces and nephews and cousins.

A special thank you for all the people that has cared and helped our sister through the years.  The family thanks you very much...there are a few that knew her the longest, Kelsie Allen, Cheri Embry, Cindy Wright, Lida Vetter and her roommates Pauline and Debbie K.  The people that also help with her through the years, Wednesday Jones, Nic Ball, Jaleesa Spencer, Vivacia Watts, Cathy Wallace, Nancee Zachow, Tamica Raven, Suzanne Beraidrene, Lena Nzobiqeza, Jenny Lachtrupp, Kate Ivenso, Bernice Taylor, Rosemary Hlyisis, Relindis Nde, Tabbie Ross.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2018, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Sts., Elberfeld, Ind., (812) 983-4211.  Rev. Rob Nash will officiate.  Burial will follow in Barnett Chapel Cemetery.  Sympathy wishes to the family may be shared at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
