Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 2701 W. Franklin St. Evansville IN 47712. A burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.

Donald C. Metzler, 88, of Evansville, IN passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at West River Health Campus in Evansville. Donald was born April 12, 1934 in Evansville to the late John and Mary (Bengert) Metzler.

Don volunteered for many years at Mater Dei High School. He was a special guy, always giving donations to many organizations and thank you to the Trust Dept. at Old National Bank for helping with his financials. Don's favorite places to visit and eat with his friends were the Merry Go Round and Cross Eyed Cricket restaurants. His cousins from Ohio always remembered Don during the holidays and visited him on his birthdays. Don always said he had all he needed and never asked for anything because God has given many blessings.

Don was a quiet, sweet man and if you met Don once he said he would was happy to have some new friends, and you were truly his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Thank you to Heritage Hospice for their wonderful care. The Wildeman family who took Don in as a family member at all their holiday meals and family gatherings. To Father Ted Temple a good friend who visited Don for many years.
