Douglas Allan Kemmerer, Sr.

Douglas Allan Kemmerer, Sr., 77, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away, Friday, June 9, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was born July 22, 1939, in Evansville, to Kenneth Stanley and Arbutus Eleanor (Anderson) Kemmerer. 

He was a 1957 graduate of Bosse High School and attended Evansville College; he worked at Whirlpool for 12 years, then went on to retire from Alcoa in 1994.  Douglas enjoyed boating and recreational shooting.  He was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, a former member of the Boonville Boat Club, and a member of Hawthorne Boat Club in Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Dorothy M. (Tevebaugh) Kemmerer. 

Douglas is survived by his children, Douglas Allan Kemmerer, Jr. (Beth), Julie Ann Fortes (Steve), Jeffrey Scott Kemmerer (Julie), Mark Andrew Kemmerer (James), Paul Louis Kemmerer (Renee); step-daughter, Angela Lynn Tevebaugh; siblings, Kenneth S. Kemmerer, Elizabeth Suzanne Hiser; grandkids, a very close and lovable granddaughter, Marina Jo Fortes, Logan Kemmerer, Jacob Kemmerer, Mason Kemmerer, Kasey Keck, Heather Johnson, Paul Kemmerer, Jr., Dustin Kemmerer, Hunter Kemmerer, Devlin Woolsey; and great-granddaughter, Kaydence Johnson.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, Ind., (812) 424-9274.  Sympathy wishes to the family may be shared at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
