Edward D. Drake, Sr. of Evansville Edward D. Drake, Sr., 78, reached out and took our mothers hand and joined her in heaven on October 12, 2012. He was born in Birdseye, Ind. on February 19, 1934 to Ralph Drake and Irene Goodman Drake. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with his family and working in his yard. Ed was preceded in death by the love of his life, Frieda Drake; his father, Ralph Drake; sister, Donna Copple; son-in-law, John Wiseman; great- grandson, Khylon Gray. Surviving Ed are his daughters, Deborah Lamble (Harold), Edith Breuer (Stan), Ruth Coy (Eric); son, Edward Drake, Jr. (Leighann); his mother, Irene Drake; sisters, Mary Green, and Esther Sanders; brother, James Drake; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight step-great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank-you to Cheryl in ICU at Deaconess Main Campus for the care and compassion she showed to Ed in his final hours. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan St. Evansville, Ind. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday October 16, 2012 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, Ind. Rev. Chad Eckels will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
