Edwin "Ed" Smith

Edwin “Ed” Smith, age 66 of Elberfeld, IN passed away at Deaconess Gateway on September 30th, 2026.

He was born July 8th, 1960 in Elberfeld, IN to James and Ruth Smith. He graduated from Tecumseh High School class of 1978. He retired from the construction field. He loved the outdoors and his animals but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was one of the biggest fans of “Da Bears”.

He is survived by his wife, Becky(Stroud), his father, James, children Kelly (Joey), Brandie (Michael), Megan (Jeremy), Steven (Jennifer), and Summer (Courtney), siblings Yvonne (Ron), Henry, Paul (Tammy), Delores, Kris(Larry), grandchildren Devin (Taylor), Mathew (Katie), Joseph (Dalton), Mason, Kiley, Mikey, Hunter, Dalton,Maddex, MaKinlea, Anthony, Chance, Kamdyn, Sullivan, Parker, Rylee and Averee, great grandchildren, Cassie and Lainey, one aunt, Martha and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, uncle, Gene, aunt, Betty and in-laws Steven and Peggy Stroud.

There will be a Celebration of life on Tuesday, October, 6th, 2026 at Kiwanis Park in Elberfeld, IN from 1 - 7 pm.
