Frederick “Fred” John Loehr, 61, of Chandler, IN, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 22, 1958 to Marcellus and Betty Loehr. He graduated from Castle H.S. in 1976.  He was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  It was a rare Sunday that he didn’t attend Mass.

He began his driveline career at Glens Driveline in 1975 and continued there until 1990 when he started Perfection Driveline, Inc. In 2012 he bought Commercial Truck Components and moved Perfection Driveline to Chandler. The success of his business was not only from his vast knowledge of mechanics but from his kindness and fun personality. Everyone liked him. we will miss his contagious laugh the most. Fred could build and fix anything but could not fix his leukemia.

In his youth he was active in 4-H and continued volunteering until his sons completed their 10 year memberships. Fred enjoyed anything outdoors. Hunting duck and geese, fishing and riding his side by side ATV. Fred was very active in Ducks Unlimited. He believed it is important to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for waterfowl. He was instrumental in raising thousands of dollars for DU.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Karson Loehr.  He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lisa (Cox) Loehr; daughter, Shannon Wainwright (Harry); sons, Isaac and Thomas (Megan); grandchildren, Kruz Loehr and Emma Wainwright; brothers, Paul (Vicki) and Dan (Linda); sisters, MaryAnn Loehr, Sarah Parks (Wally), Edie House (Larry), Lil Konermann (Joe), Becky Robbins (John); his best friend and sidekick, Dennis West (Susie); several nieces and nephews.
