George G. Kammerer

George G. Kammerer, 79, of Lynnville IN passed away on Friday, September 4th 2026 at home, surrounded by his family.

George was born on December 20th, 1946 to his parents Gail E. Sr. and Virginia Lee (Maddox) Kammerer in Oakland City, IN. After high school, George joined the US Army and served overseas in Korea. After his Army service, George obtained certifications in electrical work from Ivy Tech, and worked for 37 years at Whirlpool in Evansville IN; George also worked for the Warrick County School Corporation for 5 years following his retirement.

He was a devoted husband, father, pap and follower of Christ. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his beloved family.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gail Jr. (Bud); sister, Sharon Manson; and daughter, Bethany Ann. George is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Rita (Zehner) Kammerer; children, Krista (Rick) Rausch, Tara (Johny Ray) Dimmett, and Tim (Carrah) Kammerer; granddaughters, Stephanie (Daniel) Garrett and Reese Kammerer; great-grandchildren, Bo, Landon George, and Riley; siblings, Mark (Nicole) and Connie (Dan) McKinney; and his buddy, Rosco.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Volkman Chapel 2nd and Elm Sts Elberfeld IN 47613. A visitation will be held in George’s honor on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., also at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Volkman Chapel in Elberfeld, IN; an additional hour of visitation is to be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 9th 2026. Burial will be at Somerville Cemetery in Somerville, IN directly after the funeral service, with full military honors at graveside.
