Gloria J. Hare of Evansville Gloria J. (Merriman) Hare, 71, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at VNA Charlier Hospice Care. She was born in Evansville January 10, 1941 to the late Otis and Carita "Mimi" (Wallace) Merriman. She graduated from Central High School. Gloria worked as a fork truck driver for National Can for 30 years. She was a member of Local IAM and loved to play softball for the Bernardin National Can team for many years and was an excellent pitcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David "Sonny" Merriman and sister, Debby Hartsfield. Gloria is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Hare; daughters, Carrie Barton (Mike)of Evansville, Kelly Carter (Wayne)of Sioux City, IA; step- daughter, Bonnie Verdugo (Ramon) of Cathedral City, CA; granddaughters, Tiffany Hendrix (George), Alexandria Carter (Jon), Chelsea Carter, Brianna Carter; grandsons, Aaron Barton (Sarah), Ramon Verdugo (Mey), Dana Verdugo (Denise), Renny Verdugo; great- granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hendrix (the joy of her life); brothers, J.D. Merriman (Faith) and Jack Merriman (Barb); several nieces and nephews; and best friends, Nancy Chandler and Judy Throvilson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN (812) 424-9288. Reverend C. Glyn Pfohl will officiate with entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012 and Monday morning 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
