Helen Ann (Deig) Powell, 85, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville. She was born September 14, 1936 in Evansville to the late Carl and Dorothy (Cusic) Deig. Helen united in marriage to Clarence “Buddy” on November 28, 1957.

Helen was a member for 65 years at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh and a member of Fit over 50. She volunteered at Mother Teresa and Warrick County Humane Society for several years. She enjoyed playing rummy, avid clabber player at St. John’s and the American Legion. She loved her bus trips to the casino and most of all she loved her husband, girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence “Buddy” Powell, three daughters; Patricia “Patti” Greer, daughter, Angela “Angie” Gray (Glenn Schillo),

Susan Robbins (Rob), and brother Charles Deig (Ruth). Grandchildren; Jared Gray (Sarah), Jamie Gray, Dana Workman (Brian), Jacob, Jason, Joshua Robbins. Great grandchildren; Jaden and Cammie Burton, Chloe Roby, Conner Greer, Mattie Pearl Gray, Hannah, and Grace Jolley. Several nieces, nephews, and beloved cat, Gracie. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Jeanette Lamp and Emily Deig.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, September 14, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery 5133 Old Indiana 261, Newburgh.

Visitation will be held 4-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Titzer Family funeral Home, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh IN 47630, (812)853-8314, with prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 725 Frame Rd. Newburgh, IN 47630.
