Jackie R. Lackey, 80, of Mount Vernon, Indiana passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Solarbron Nursing and Rehab. 

He was born October 6, 1940 in Pulaski, Illinois, son of James A. Lackey and Emma (Claxton) Kleine.  He married Janet M. Just on April 16, 1971 in Centralia, Illinois.

Jack worked in maintenance though out his life.  He lived in the Centralia area most of his life.  He enjoyed working on wood crafts and painting.  One of his miniature houses he made was put on display in the Centralia Museum.  He also enjoyed watching and learning about History. 

Jack is survived by his wife Janet M. (Just) Lackey, his four children: Dianna McClelland of Centralia, Tressa Walden of Centralia, Paul Glass and wife Stacy of Evansville, Indiana, and Emmie Wacker and husband Jamison of Mount Vernon, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Samantha Tate and husband Jason of Centralia, Shaffer McClelland of Centralia, Ellie McClelland of Centralia, Nichole Qualls and husband Josh of Centralia, Timothy Walden of Terre Haute, Indiana, Mercedes “Sadie” Wacker of Mount Vernon, Indiana and Jorden Wacker of Mount Vernon, Indiana; three great-grandchildren: Cadenze Johnson, Michael Qualls, and William Qualls; and several nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Hargon “Abby” Abinathy, sister Dorris Garrison and sister Ruth Smith.

Per Jack’s wishes a small service will be held February 13, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia with Pastor Darrell Rice officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes.
