James “Jim” Craig Titzer, 81, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at his home. He was born November 22, 1934 in Evansville to Irene (Craig) and Ben Titzer. He attended Memorial High School. Jim worked for Whirlpool Corp. for 43½ years. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family and many friends foremost. He was locally known for his outstanding vegetables that he grew in his large garden. He and Bonnie enjoyed traveling and eating out at local restaurants and became friends with many of the wait staff—Cheddar’s was their favorite. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James A. (Tony) Titzer, and infant daughter, Theresa M. Titzer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie (Coker) Titzer; children, Sharon Ann Patterson (Tim), Dr. Robert Craig Titzer, Lisa Ann Dozier (Brendan), David Joseph Titzer (Lisa); grandchildren, Dr. Melissa Patterson, Andrea Titzer, Aleka Titzer, MacKenzie Austill (Luke), Keelin Titzer, and Nick Titzer; great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Austill; siblings, Tom, Don (Bonnie), Emily Utterback (Dave), John (Beverly), Michael (Patricia), Diane Schwarzl (Sepp), Mark (Sunny). Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Condolences may be made at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
