James P. Snyder

James Paul Snyder, 71, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Linda White Hospice House. He was born on June 10, 1951, in Huntingburg, IN, to the late Francis L. and Rose E. (Hildenbrand) Snyder.

James attended Dale High School and obtained an Associate degree from Lockyear Business School. He served in the U.S Army National Guard and retired from Ryder Trucking Services.

James was a member of the American Legion post 44, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, shooting matches, golf, football, and his beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents Francis L. and Rose (Hildenbrand) Snyder, and his brother, Don Snyder.

James is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diana (Robinson) Snyder, his two sons Wes A. Snyder (Stacey) of Indianapolis, Greg J. Snyder (Jill) of Evansville, his daughter, Heather A. Young (Jason); sisters Ruth Schaefer (Jerry), Janet Dauby (Paul), seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale IN, 8 E Maple St, Dale IN, 47523. A graveside service will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 Honor Guard.
