James Robert “Bob” Ward Sr., 77, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 9th, 2023. He was born in Evansville on October 30th, 1945 to the late James Marvin Ward, and Lois (Miller) Drew.
Bob received his high school diploma while serving in the Air Force from 1963-1967. He spent one year in Vietnam as a member of the U-Tapau Air Force Base Red Horse 556th Squadron based in Thailand. He received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also served one year in the Army Reserves, and one year in the National Guard Reserves. After his time in the military, he worked as a heavy machine operator for Evansville Waterworks for 31 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years , Jean (Peterson) Ward, son, James “Jim” Jr Ward (Nancy), son, Richard Ward (Tashana), and his grandsons Garrett and Justin.
Bob’s wishes were to be cremated, there will be no services.
