James Robert "Bob" Ward Sr.

James Robert “Bob” Ward Sr., 77, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 9^th, 2023. He was born in Evansville on October 30^th, 1945 to the late James Marvin Ward, and Lois (Miller) Drew.

Bob received his high school diploma while serving in the Air Force from 1963-1967. He spent one year in Vietnam as a member of the U-Tapau Air Force Base Red Horse 556^th Squadron based in Thailand.  He received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also served one year in the Army Reserves, and one year in the National Guard Reserves. After his time in the military, he worked as a heavy machine operator for Evansville Waterworks for 31 years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years , Jean (Peterson) Ward, son, James “Jim” Jr Ward (Nancy), son, Richard Ward (Tashana), and his grandsons Garrett and Justin.

Bob’s wishes were to be cremated, there will be no services.
