James William Prather sunset on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Deaconess Hospital. James Prather, born June 13, 1937 to Otis and Serelda Prather (Stone), was the youngest of three children. Though born in Henderson Kentucky, he lived most of his life in Chicago, Illinois. He work for the Department of Human Services in Chicago, Illinois for 30 years. James is survived by his son Jordell Prather (Karen), two brothers; Glen Prather (Evelyn) and Darryl Prather, grandchildren; Geonna, LeAira, Julian.
