Joyce A. Hatchett

Joyce A (Downing) Hatchett 77, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday May 9, 2021. She was born on February 16, 1944 in Muhlenberg, Kentucky to the late Elvin and Esmer ( Knight ) Downing.

Joyce graduated from Castle High School in 1963. She operated an in-home daycare for nearly 20 years. Joyce was a devoted Christian and was dedicated to serving her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Above all Joyce was caring and compassionate, her heart was made of gold. She loved her family, cherished all children, enjoyed trimming her red roses, she loved to sing and brought joy to everyone she met.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Betty Fae Barnett, Juanita Bowers, Helen Ashby, Sheilah Diane Downing and brother, JD Downing.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 52 years Leon Hatchett, a daughter, Scarlett Meier, two grandchildren Cayman and Kennedy. Stepdaughters Tina Scott, Sherrianne Capper, 1 step grandchild and 3 step great grandchildren, Brother Doris (Sandra) Downing, and Many Nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday May 14, 2021 3:00-8:00 pm. and on Saturday, May 15, 2021 11:00-1:00 pm at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel 510 West Jennings St. Newburgh, IN 47630 (812-853-8314).

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday May 15, 2021 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, Newburgh, IN. Burial will follow service at Greenwood Cemetery, Chandler, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Chapel, PO Box 318, Chandler, IN 47610
