Joyce Ann Harris

Joyce A. (Miles) Harris 85, of Evansville IN., passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Linda E. White Hospice House.  She was born March 16, 1939 in Evansville IN., to the late Lloyd K. & Lavada A. (Lamar) Miles.       

Joyce graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1957. She was a longtime member of Zion UCC in Elberfeld where she was formerly the church secretary, Choir member and custodian.  Joyce also sold Avon for many years. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Derek Harris and Ashley McInnes, her husband of 60 years, William “Bill” E. Harris, siblings, Kermit Miles, Jerry Miles, Kenneth (Butch) Miles.

Joyce is survived by her children, Steven Harris (girlfriend, Lee East), Deann Smith (Tom), Erika Powers (John); sister, Betty Allen; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Lily Harris and Mary Ann Harris, brothers-in-laws, Kenneth Harris (Wanda) and David Harris (Dianna) and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Deaconess & Envive nursing as well as the Linda E. White Hospice House staff for their compassion and respect.

 A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2024 at Zion UCC, 165 Elm St., Elberfeld, IN, officiated by Pastor Paul Fraser. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. till service time at the church.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm St., Elberfeld, IN (812) 983-4211.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linda E. White Hospice House and/or the American Heart Association.
