Keren Helen (Warweg) Grimm, 85 of Newburgh, passed away on October 26, 2012. She was in advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease. Keren was born October 4, 1927 in Milwaukee to Earl & Marion (Wann) Warweg. She attended Newburgh High School, Evansville College and received her Master's Degree from Indiana University. Her teaching career spanned four decades retiring from the EVSC. In the early days of her career she traveled to different schools teaching art and music. She loved to paint and wrote several novels, although none were published. Until her husband's death in 1970, she enjoyed camping, boating and vacations with family and friends. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, attending art clinics in various parts of the Midwest and visiting Germany. Keren was a long time member of Zion UCC Church in Newburgh and had been active in the Evansville Lapidary Society. She had a gruff exterior but was very loving and cared for her parents, as well as her aunt Helen of Madison WI, for several years until their deaths. She also gave a home to many stray or orphaned cats and adopted one (Tommy) as a companion. She lived on the Grimm Family Farm for 60 years, from her marriage until her death, where she died peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Marion (Wann) Warweg, husband, Orville Grimm, sister, Joanne Mowson, nephew, Tommy Mowson and her in-laws, Otto (Bud) Ellerbusch, Howard and Martha Grimm, Ed and Dorothy Tweedy. Keren is survived by her son, Daniel and his wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Millicent Ellerbusch; nieces & nephews, Amber Faith of Snowflake AZ, David (Patty) Ellerbusch, Mike (Leslie) Grimm, Mark (Cheryl) Grimm and Mary (Tod) Bischoff of Newburgh, John (Marsha) Tweedy and Tom (Stephanie) Tweedy of Chandler; grandchildren, Brad Folz of Newburgh and Jami (Mikey) Critser of Evansville. She loved getting "special visits" from her 5 great-grandchildren; Danielle & Ian Pierce, Devon & Travis Folz and Jaiden Critser. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Regina Cooper, that hand delivered her newspaper every morning without fail, and her granddaughter Jami, that helped care for her for the past several years and VistaCare Hospice for their wonderful support and gentle care. An extra special thank you to VistaCare nurse Kelly Poellein. You are one in a million. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
