Linda K. Deffendall, 68, passed away January 11, 2016 at her home in Newburgh, Ind. She was born to Thelma and Carson Lemmons of Princeton, and lived there for many years, eventually residing in Newburgh. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by them all. She had been a caregiver for the elderly, a preschool teacher and helped care for several of her grandchildren. Her life has been centered around her kids and grandkids, watching them play sports and seeing their many accomplishments. Surviving are her husband of almost 50 years, Mike Deffendall; three children, Kelly (Danny) Favello, Kerri (Tony) Hamilton and Michael Jr. (Krista Miller). She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Laci, Lindsay, AJ, Michael III, Zack, Logan, Brandon, Braydon, Jagger, Kaleb, Max and Sheena; and one great-grandson, Ayden; several nieces and nephews. She was ushered into the gates of Heaven by her mom and dad; sisters, Patricia (Johnson), Carolyn (Richeson); and her brothers, Jerry, Jim and Clarence Lemmons. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her doctors, nurses and caregivers who helped with her care, and Gentiva Hospice for their caring and thoughtful staff. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Cancer Society. Services will be held at 1 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, Ind. (812)853-8314.
