Linda R. (Garner) Gerling, 59, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away Friday, October 11, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1954, in Evansville to Paul and Emma Louise (Vonderscher) Garner. She worked as a LPN at Good Samaritan Home in the Alzheimer’s Unit. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel Garner. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Shaw; son-in-law, Henry Johnston; grandson, Steven Spainhoward; and brother, Fred Garner. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, and 10 a.m. to service time, Tuesday at the funeral home.
