Louise Maria Embry

Louise Maria Embry, 91, of Evansville, Indiana passed away peacefully on June 12 at Bethel Manor Nursing Home. Louise was born on June 26, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Louise (Verdi) Martin.

In addition to her parents and brothers Raymond, Napoleon ,Michael, and Robert Martin, she is preceded in death by Arthur “Pete” Embry, her husband of 49 years, her daughter Donna Goebel and her daughter Veronica Embry Gibbons.

She is survived by her grandchildren Heather Botta (John), Heath Goebel (Jaime), Brady Goebel and Jay Goebel (Samantha) and numerous great grandchildren.

Louise worked as a housekeeper for many years but the job she enjoyed the most was as a dealer of Fenton glassware in the Evansville Super Flea Market for more than 20 years. She enjoyed antiques, reading, canning, and cooking for her many friends and family. She enjoyed traveling and even made the trip to Alaska twice in the last few years of her life. Her family was very precious to her and family gatherings were among her dearest pleasures.

A celebration of her life will be held in October at a date to be determined.
