Margaret B. Hobdy, 93, of Evansville, IN passed away Tuesday, October 07, 2014 at Golden Living Center-Woodlands in Newburgh. Margaret was born August 30, 1921 in Springfield, TN. She met and married John C. Hobdy in 1940 and they moved to Indiana. They had two children, Tom and Pam. Margaret worked for Mac's Barbecue for over 30 years and the Evansville State Hospital for 11 years. She was loved by all who knew her, and was loyal, selfless, and always accepting of others. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she loved to cook and had plenty for anyone stopping by. Margaret belonged to First Southern Baptist Church and went on many trips with the church. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John C. Hobdy; her parents, Edward and Ethel (Loveless) Brinley; her aunt and uncle, Margaret and Alva Loveless, of whom she lived with from age 13, until she married; three sisters, four brothers, four brother-in-laws and three sister-in-laws. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Pamela and husband, Dan Hart; son, Tom Hobdy and wife, Chetta; grandchildren, Matt Hart and wife, Melanie of Cincinnati, OH, Heather Lam and husband, Bob of Minneapolis, MN, Wendi Hobdy of Evansville, and Thomas Hobdy and wife, Jaymie of Evansville; great grandchildren, Jordyn, T.J., Luke, Agnes, and Brady; sisters, Penny Bolton, Dean Wishnosky; brother-in-law, Danny Lee Hobdy; sister-in-law, Faye Brinley; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of those who cared for our mother for the past five years. Special thanks to Kathy and Erin for their help and support. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Newburgh Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh IN. 47630, (812) 853-8314, officiated by Rev. Don Moore with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday morning at the funeral home. Sympathy wishes may be made at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com
