Mark Keith Hutson folded his final hand on the card deck of his life on May 31, 2026, at his home in Evansville, IN at the age of 64. Born May 29, 1962, to the late Albert Frederick and Jo Ann (Spillman) Hutson in Newburgh, IN, Mark grew up like any farm boy in the 70’s & 80’s – creating memories with friends and cousins while tending to cows, riding horses, and working hayfields. He graduated from John H. Castle High School in 1980 where he ran cross country and wrestled, finishing as the runner up in the 105lb weight class at the IHSSA wrestling sectional his senior year despite typically wrestling in the 98lb weight class. He then went on to briefly attend the University of Evansville before abandoning his studies to work for Dinette Showcase Gallery, selling furniture and enjoying the friendship of the owners that became more like family, for over 25 years.

Mark had a way with animals. He especially loved dogs and almost always had a cold nosed companion by his side. While he liked cats, he insisted that if he were to have one it would only happen if they had a fluffy tail like his first best little buddy, Sly. He was always very active but when he did take the time to sit still, he could be found in his beloved garage, beer in hand, watching sports or listening to music. He enjoyed camping, being outdoors, and building backyard bonfires. He also enjoyed throwing darts and disc golf, as well as playing poker. Possibly most notably, Mark was the kind of friend that never hesitated to offer a helping hand.

Preceding Mark in death were the parents from which he inherited his stubbornness and passion for homegrown tomatoes; and cousins who were more like siblings, Duane Scraper, Ellen Scraper, Dale Werth and Jeff Werth.

Mark is survived by his son, Sam and his wife Tabitha, as well as their children Gauge, Beau and Rory; and his daughter Whitney with her daughters, Surie and London. He is also survived by his brother Jed (Aleta); cousin, Lynette Scraper who was considered a sister; and nephews Benjamin, and Nolan with his wife Stephanie and their children, Mark’s great nieces and nephews.

Details of a memorial service in honor of Mark will be announced at a later date. Services are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes.
