Mark Boush James, 67, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born in Palm Beach County, FL to the late Jesse and Elisabeth (Kinney) James on May 5, 1959.
Mark served six years in the United States Marine Corps and was discharged honorably as a Corporal. Mark graduated from Buffalo Grove High School in Buffalo Grove, IL. He attended Harper College for his associate’s degree and attended Northeastern Illinois University for a bachelor's degree in business management. He worked as a healthcare manager for many years and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his two children, Nicole James and Mark James (Adina); two grandchildren, Eleanor “Lenny,” and Margaux James; sister, Sherry Dean; nephews, Tommy and Randy Dean; niece, Carrie Dean, and a litany of friends of Bill W. for the last 47 years. Mark truly believed in a faith that works, where nothing happens in God’s world by mistake, and that the key to happiness is found in trudging the road to a happy destiny by helping those you meet along the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dawn Tucker and his brother Clark.
A memorial service in Mark’s honor, with full military rites, will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, IN, 47630. Public visitation begins at 5:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mark’s memory may be made to the Newburgh Volunteer Fire Department, 525 State St, Newburgh, IN, 47630; and/or the Newburgh Kiwanis Club, PO Box 447, Newburgh, IN 47629, in the care of his son, Mark James.
