Mary Ann Garrett Kinney, 88, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away, Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home.  She was born February 17, 1929, in Evansville to Oliver and Katherine (Haas) Sutton.

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and the Women’s Auxiliary American Legion Kapperman Post #44.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Sutton; mother and step-father, Katherine and James Patterson; sisters, Doris Jean Sutton Fisher, Maxine Patterson; great-grandson, Brock Hertel; husband, William G. Garrett II; and husband, Colonel Charles Kinney.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Patsi Hart, Jeanie Johnson (Bayly), William G. Garrett III (Georgia), David Garrett, David Kinney (Jean), Wayne Kinney (Irish); grandchildren, Ara Hertel (Kevin), Amy Hart, Jennifer Moore (Andy), Jason Biggs (Julie), Lindsay Halbig (Jason), William D. Garrett (Amber), Suzanne Tuley, Kathryn Garrett; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Monday and 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Post #44 Legion Color Guard or Zion UCC.  Sympathy wishes to the family may be shared at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
