Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at All Saints Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 E. Virginia, St. Evansville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery
Mary Lou (Monarch) Breece, 93, of Kountz, Texas, formerly of Kirkwood, Missouri and Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Kountz Nursing Center.
Mrs. Breece, the daughter of James and Edwina Monarch, was born on October 30, 1922 in Owensboro, Kentucky. She received her education in the St. Louis Missouri area prior to moving to Evansville. During WWII she was employed by the Briggs Corporation, working in the ammunitions department in the support of the war. On February 15, 1947 she was united in marriage to Woodrow "Woody" Breece. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years and was a housewife and mother to her husband and four children. In 1959 Mary Lou and Woody moved to Kirkwood, Missouri where they lived and worked for 40 years before moving to Washington, Missouri.
Mrs. Breece was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woody; son, Barry Breece; two brothers, J. L. Monarch and James "Buddy" Monarch; sister, Mary Florence Washington; grandson, Jeff Sullentrup; great grandson, Avett Ray Jester.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Colter and wife, Cathy of Dublin, Ohio and David Breece and his wife, Kathy of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter, Barbara Sullentrup of Sour Lake, Texas; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
