Mary Virginia "Ginny" Seibert, 80, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away Friday, October 2, 2015, at home. She was born September 21, 1935, in Perry County to Clarence and Mildred (Heierman) Lasher. Ginny attended Memorial High School and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was instrumental in beginning the Bereavement Meal Ministry. She prepared meals for permanent deacons in training. She became a member of the Brute Society in 2001, and the St. John the Baptist Living Legacy Society in 2010. Ginny and her husband Joe organized Happy Hoosier bus trips. They were foster parents for 10 years. She enjoyed being with family, quilting, canning, reading, crossword puzzles, clabber, growing flowers (specifically African Violets), traveling, visiting and playing games with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph, Jr.; daughter, Mary Virginia; grandson, Elijah Etienne; sisters, Anita Lasher, Johanna Seibert, Carolyn Lee; brother, Raymond Lasher. Ginny is survived by her husband of 61 years, Deacon Joseph; sons, Deacon David (Melanie) of Newburgh, Deacon Michael (Mary) of Celestine, Timothy of Finksburg, MD; daughters, Rebecca Heerdink (Dave) of Evansville, Beth Gillis (Terry) of Valencia, PA, Patricia Schnautz (Doug) of Evansville, Anita Reising (Dan) of Owensville, Jennifer Vangampler of Evansville, Sheryl Etienne (Dan) of Dale, Jaime Wright (Ed) of Greensboro, NC; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Schoenbachler, Evelyn Orth, Valada Howard, Sharon Staley, Janet Morris; brothers, Thomas Lasher, Anthony Lasher, Cecil Lasher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, Ind., burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m., with a memorial service at 4 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Additional visitation will be 9 a.m. to Mass time Tuesday at the church.
