Melissa Anne Owen

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Melissa ( Missy) Anne Owen, age 46, of Reed, KY /Newburgh, IN . Melissa gained her angel wings on December 4th, 2025 surrounded by her family, peacefully at her home.

Melissa brought light and joy to all who were blessed to know her. Known for her bright smile and open heart, she never met a stranger and treated everyone as a friend. Her kindness and compassion touched all who knew her. Melissa enjoyed the little things that brought happiness—bingo nights, toes in the sand, thrift shopping, craft shows, dance parties, family gatherings, gardening and her special love for sea turtles. These small joys reflected her big spirit and gentle heart.

Melissa is the beloved daughter of Leslie Koonce, stepdad Jeff Koonce and big sister to Tonya Rawlins ( Jeremy) , Kristin Lovell (Jason) , and Chasity Koonce . Melissa loved spending a great amount of her time with her nieces and nephews Kaden Ransom, Isley Settle, Owen Settle, Lexus Johnson, Lane Johnson, Duncan Sass and her cartoon buddies her great niece (Paislee Tompkins) and great nephew (Sawyer Tompkins) . Melissa is deeply loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Melissa’s caregivers, Chasity Koonce , Lexy Johnson , Owen Settle and Isley Settle.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort knowing she now rests peacefully, reunited at heaven’s gates with her best friend and beloved grandmother Betty Owen, who she adored deeply along with her Grandfather Artie Owen and Aunt Candace Belter. Together, they are smiling down on us with the same love and warmth she gave every day of her life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Melissa’s life on December 9th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel 510 W Jennings St Newburgh IN. There will also be a viewing on that date, also at Titzer Funeral Home, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Rose Hill will be immediately following the Funeral Service. Melissa’s pallbearers shall include Lexy Johnson , Chasity Koonce , Jason Siewert, Coleton Tompkins, Lane Johnson, Will Siewert and Brady Renner.
