Nelda “Sue” Loos 79, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away September 14, 2021.  She was born November 20, 1941 to the late James T and Anna Ruth (Franklin) Hopper. 

Sue was born and raised in Evansville.  She graduated from Reitz High School in 1959.  She worked at Springfield Wire where she retired early.  She then went on to be a caregiver and Certified Nursing Assistant.  She cared for many of the elderly at home before settling into Seton Manor where she had a long career and retired in 2013. 

Sue’s passion was rescuing, fostering and caring for retired racing Greyhounds.  She was a long time member of the Greyhound Pets of America where she formed many lifelong friendships.  She enjoyed traveling to picnics, dinners and GPA meetings.  Her Greyhounds were the light of her life.  

Sue loved her family.  She enjoyed family gatherings and all the holiday celebrations surrounded by her large family and extended family. 

Sue is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Loos, Daughters Jamie Lee, Stacey Lyon (Steve), sons, Michael Loos, Mark Loos and Robert Loos.  Grandchildren, Christopher Goodman (Angie), Brandon Kelley, Brittney Lee-Thompson, Kathryn Lee, Tiffany Capps, Jason Risse, Joey Loos, Tony Loos, and Jonathan Loos.  Great Grandchildren, Kierra Kelley, Richard Clegg, Nikki Clegg, Alex Kaufman (Paula), Parker Thompson, Bradie Thompson, Cory Young, Brodie Young, and Bralee Risse.  Great-Great Grandchildren, Jalon Garrison, Michael “Drew” Stocker III, Lucas Clegg, and Baby Kaufman arriving in November 2021.  Sue is also survived by her Great Aunt Delene Blue (Dick) of Madisonville, KY.  And her beloved cat Cherry. 

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Hamilton Pointe staff for caring for Sue these last few weeks. 

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to GPA (Greyhound Pets of America). 

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am. on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN 47711 and entombment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

A celebration of life dinner will be held 1:30 pm. at Riverwalk restaurant 6 Walnut St. Evansville, IN

A visitation will be held 3:00-7:00 pm. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the funeral home and until the time of service beginning at 10:00 am.
