Nettie V. Littell, 102, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Newburgh Health Care. She was born November 15, 1913, in Graveltown, TN to Louis Patrick and Mary (Taylor) Russell. Nettie was the Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher at St. Matthews UCC in Evansville. She attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Newburgh. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John E. Littell; siblings, Edna, Dee, Ellen, Betty, Julia, and Melvin (Corky) Russell. Nettie is survived by her children, Johnny Joe Littell (Jo Ann), Dennis Littell (Sherri), Douglas Littell (Sharon), Delores Sloan (David); grandchildren, Candy Bridges (Greg), Chris Littell, David Paul Sloan (Laura), Kelly Walls (Waylon), Amy Rinner (Tom), Melanie Baier (Matt), Denise Neville (Steve) Danetta Hyatt; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Newburgh Health Care staff and Nettie’s caregiver, Eva. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Rev. Kenneth Slater will officiate and burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Friday and 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
