Paul Guy Fischer

Paul Guy Fischer, 80, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at The Charlier Hospice Center at Deaconess VNA Plus.  He was born on December 15, 1936 in Elberfeld to Arthur and Sophronia (White) Fischer.  He was self-employed at Best Lube and Perfomance Shop and Fischer Farms.  He retired from the Town of Elberfeld.

Paul held world records in drag racing in 1969.  He raced in Cannon Ball Runs in '72 and '73 placing 11th and 13th.  He also enjoyed playing the steel guitar for the Ditney Hill Rythmaires.  Paul loved old westerns and John Wayne.

Paul is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Fischer; their seven children, David Fischer, Gerald Fischer (Tina), Paula Blair (Dean), Rebecca Nutt (Kenny), Brian Green (Allyssa), Scott Green (Dawn), Tony Wilson (Dawn); twenty-one grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Samuel.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 220 W. Elm St. Elberfeld, IN (812) 983-4211.  Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3 pm. to 8 p.m., Tuesday and 10 a.m. to service Wednesday at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
