Pearl Mae (Epley) Smith, 89, of Kuttawa, KY, formerly of Evansville, Ind., passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, at Calvert City Convalescent Center. She was born August 9, 1925, in Hansen, KY, to Thomas Theodore and Lura Nadine (Gropengiser) Epley.
Pearl was a member of the Christadelphian ECC of Henderson, KY. She was a cook at Bosse High School, then became a nurse's aide at Pine Haven and at various nursing homes around Sebree. She was then a cook at Hopkins County School Corp for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Raymond Smith, Jr.; twin brother, Earl B. Epley; and sister, Effie Epley De Moss.
Pearl is survived by son, Terry Lee Smith (Linda) of Eddyville, KY; daughter, Markeeta Smith Wireman (Charles) of Kuttawa, KY; 4 grandchildren, Lori, Tammy, Tina, Jaime Lee; several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY. Brother Terry Lee Smith will officiate.
