Peggy L. Payne Klippel, 61, passed away, Thursday, March 19, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born October 1, 1953, in Evansville to James E. and Anna Mae (McBride) Payne. Peggy graduated from Central High School in 1971 and was on the Honey Bears Dance Team. She won Ms. Power Radio of Evansville in the 70’s, and attended Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Indianapolis. She was vice president of Klippel Enterprises and Farms. Peggy was a homemaker, a Real Estate Agent, and a secretary at Red Spot. She attended Gracepoint Church in Evansville. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; she was a very loving mother and grandmother; and she loved her family and friends dearly. Peggy was honest, funny, and compassionate. She was a great cook, enjoyed fishing, and shooting targets. Peggy also enjoyed mowing the grass; kept her lawn meticulous; refinishing furniture; and vacationing in Fort Meyers Florida. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, James Payne and a granddaughter, Shailee. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Klippel of Boonville; mother, Anna Mae Nelson; son, Cameron Maxwell (Jamie) of Chandler; daughter, Krystal Stratton Schorey (Dan) of New Haven, IN; grandchildren, Brooke, Vayda, Paige, Maddex; brothers, Stephen Payne, Tony Payne (Lou), John Payne (Kay); mother-in-law, Barbara Klippel; sister-in-law, Karen Sue Klippel Hardison; brother-in-law, Karl A. Klippel; several nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Theresa, Donna, Alice, Ronda, Carol, Marilyn, Joan, and many bus drivers, neighbors, and friends. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2015, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Newburgh Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Rev. Samuel Smith will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Immediately following the burial, family and friends are invited for lunch at the VFW in Boonville. Visitation will be held 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday and 9 a.m. to service time, Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
