Richard Duane Dennis, 81, passed away April 18, 2013, after a sudden and brief illness. Richard was born December 12, 1931, in Princeton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence (Hunt) Dennis, and his loving wife of 13 years, Karen (Hall) Dennis. He is survived by his brother, Paul Dennis, and his wife Carol; his five children, Debbie Welder (Russell), Rob Dennis (Cathy), Pat Dennis (Dora), Liz Dennis (Amy), Paula Lorenzen (Dan); his five grandchildren, Jennica Pritchard (Daniel), Justin Welder, Jerame Dennis (Amanda), Sean Hoag, and Cameron Hoag; his five great-grandchildren, Gabe Welder and Jacob, Alayna, Evan and Austin Pritchard; and his cat, Mr. Moo. Richard grew up in Princeton, Iowa. He married Emmy Lou Dennis in 1953 and they had five children together. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a military police officer. While still in high school, he started his career with Alcoa in Davenport, Iowa. His career took him to many locations, including South Wales, China, and Russia. Richard enjoyed gourmet cooking, snow- skiing, and fly fishing. He was a master woodcrafter, pilot, turkey hunter, and gut-bucket musician. One of the great loves of his life was his 1962 Morgan Super Sport. We would like to acknowledge Allison and all his friends from "The Log House" in Russellville, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends in Boise, Idaho, including those at the Idaho British Car Club and the Bogus Basin Ski Club. The family would like to express their gratitude to his sister-in-law, Sharon Nelson, and step daughter, Becky Withers, for all their love and friendship over the years. A private memorial service is being held at a later date. Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Newburgh, Ind. is assisting with arrangements. Sympathy wishes may be made at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
