Ricky “Rick” Allen Goerges, 74, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long, hard battle with cancer on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Rick was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 5, 1948 to John and Mary Goerges.
Rick is survived by his daughter, Jaime Goerges of Mount Vernon, IN and son, Adam Goerges (Nicki) of Bloomington, Indiana; grandchildren, Lucas Medley and Liam Medley of Mount Vernon, Aidan Goerges, Addison Goerges, and Anderson Goerges of Bloomington, Indiana as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Brother Terry Goerges; his sister Sharon Thompson; his Father, John Goerges; and Mother, Mary Goerges.
Rick was a loving father and grandfather. He was a very giving person. He never met a stranger and always treated friends as if they were family. Rick spent a majority of his years working at both Bucyrus Erie and Whirlpool in Evansville. He loved his time there and the many friendships that were made. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, bowling, and working on cars and boat motors. He also enjoyed his 1965 mustang fastback which he restored.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Heart to Heart for their love and support especially towards the end.
