Robert (Bob) Paul Berkau, Newburgh, IN

Robert Paul Berkau, 55, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Monday, May 19th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family being treated by wonderful staff willing to go above and beyond for him and his family at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Bob was born in Orlando, FL on October 24, 1969 to loving parents Russell and Joanne Berkau. After graduating high school and attending some college, Bob found his passion as a construction professional spending more than 30 years in this field.

Bob valued his Christian faith, and loved spending time with his family and friends, as well as golfing, fishing, and making people laugh. If anyone knew him, they knew how truly wonderful he was. He was our fiercest protector and he loved so big. Bob was a fixer and a giver. He would do anything for anyone no questions asked. He will be dearly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his dad, Russ, as well as his oldest brother Charles “Chuck” Berkau, and countless other loved ones. He is survived by his beloved mom, Joanne; his brother, Russ (Cami); his sisters, Shari (Jeff), and Brenda; two stepsons, Ronnie and Anthony; four grandchildren; as well as his nieces, Danielle, Ashley, and Anna; and his nephew, Josh.

According to his family’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be announced and held at a later date.
