Robert (Bob) Jerome Brown, of Newburgh, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at UofL Jewish Hospital, Cardiac ICU. He was born January 22, 1963 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Jerry and Marty (Herbold) Brown.
Early in life, Bob accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout and carried that tradition with his two sons. He worked at Wesselman’s Grocery Store for 21 years. While there, he met and married the love of his life, Mary (Wargel) Brown, on May 10, 1986. He joined the workforce at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana in 2002, eventually becoming a manager in recent years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for over 50 years. While there, he has served as a Eucharistic minister and usher, as well as other roles through the years. He also served as the president of the food pantry and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bob was a devoted husband, cherished dearly as a dad and papaw, dedicated brother, and loyal friend to everyone he met. He worked hard to provide for his family and was a great team member. He had a heart of gold, invigorating laugh, and unique singing voice. His infectious spirit and enthusiasm for life will live on in the hearts of all that loved him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary, and children, Kenny Brown (Becca) of Newburgh, Melissa Arnold (Tommy) of Indianapolis, Travis Brown of Evansville, and Tiffany Pruden (Martin) of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Haley and Wesley Brown, Kylie, Connor, and Claire Arnold, and Jerome and Wyatt Pruden; brothers Mike (Sharyl) of Vail, CO, Don (Sharon) of Greenwood, IN, and Gerard (Pam) Brown of Elmira, NY; sisters Barbara of Selina, KS and Diane Brown of St. Louis, MO; nieces Heather and Maggie; nephews Kyle, Adam, Noah, and Liam; mother in law Mary Wargel; and many other extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Brown.
The family would like to express gratitude for the numerous people that have been there for support the last couple months through visits, phone calls, and especially through prayers.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Bob on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 625 Frame Rd Newburgh In 47630. A Visitation will be held in Bob’s honor from 3:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel 510 W Jennings St Newburgh In 47630. A prayer service will be held after visitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and an additional one hour visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Church. Burial will take place directly after Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on the west side of Evansville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Newburgh Area Food Pantry (Mother Theresa’s by St. John’s) or directly to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh.
All services are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes.
