Ronald was born on October 7, 1944 to Glynn and Oletta Pierson in Evansville, Indiana. He was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1963. From the age of 12 until graduation, he worked for Creasey Distributing Company. Following graduation, Ronald joined the Air Force and was assigned to a flight crew that flew and dropped into Vietnam from 1963 to 1968 to extricate the wounded and/or fallen soldiers from the battlefield. He also represented the United States Armed Forces in boxing and weightlifting competitions in Turkey, placing first in both categories! His love for lifting weights continued throughout his lifetime until his decline in health no longer permitted. Once his Military Service Obligation was fulfilled, he re-entered the workforce with a position at Louis Allis. He then went on to work as a journeyman, roofer, and welder for Industrial Contractors, U.S. Sheet Metal, and Comfort Homes. Ronald eventually started up his own contracting and rental property business, which he worked until retirement. He married his loyal and loving wife, Deborah (Hernandez) on May 12, 1979. They celebrated their 40th wedding Anniversary with a surprise Vow Renewal Wedding Ceremony on May 25, 2019. As members of the Corvette Club, they enjoyed traveling and driving for charity events in their 2002 convertible as well as attending and entering their 1956 hardtop convertible into car shows. Together they enjoyed bowling on a league and motorcycle trips with their special friends, Harold and (the late) Dianne Williams.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother and father; Reverend Glynn and Oletta Pierson, brothers; Gary, Charles, and Michael (Mouse), a sister; Sharon Chewning, and son-in-law; Troy Atkinson.
