Ruth C. Jordan Ruth C. Jordan, 93, of Evansville, died Thursday, August 23rd, 2007, at the Little Sisters where she lived since February 6th. 2000. She was born March 7th, 1914 to William and Henrietta (Dewig)TenBarge in Poseyville, IN. She formerly worked at Shoppers Fair and Sears as a sales clerk. She was a devoted and loving housewife and mother. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Altar Society, Quilting Group and Senior Club. She belonged to the Little Sisters Auxiliary, was past treasurer of the Parent Teachers Assn. and Den Mother of the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bingo and working at the polls on election day. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter G. Jordan, in 1970 and two son's David and Darrell Jordan. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters and her parents. She is survived by son Dick Jordan and wife Phyllis, and brother, William (Bill) TenBarge and his wife Mary, sister, Jean Clark, her daughter-in-law Janice Jordan, all of Evansville. Seven grandson's Daniel, Steven, Chad, Darrin, Damon, Derrick and Deon. Great grandchildren Cale, Joel, Sean, Shanandoa and Reese, and also many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at The Little Sisters of the Poor, Sunday, August 26th, from 2 to 6 PM, with a Rosary at 4:30 PM. Additional visitation will be on Monday, August 27th, from 9 AM till time of service. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 PM, Monday, at Little Sisters of the Poor, officiated by Father Ted Tempel. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the Little Sisters and their staff for the excellent care she received while residing there. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1236 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.
