Sheldon "Bud" L. Pitt, 88, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Friday, November 21, 2014, at Golden Living-Woodlands. He was born January 12, 1926 in Evansville to Curtis A. and Ethel E. (Perry) Pitt. Bud was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. He loved music, and was a member of the choirs at St. Ben's and St. Joseph's for many years. He was a past member of the Knight's of St. John/St. Joe Commandery. He was the office manager for Master Tool and Die. Bud also was the production manager for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra for 40 years. He was business agent for the IATSE Local #102-stage hand union. Bud was in the United States Naval Reserve. He loved to garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Magdalene (Seidl) Pitt (passed, June 4, 2011); one brother and two sisters. Bud is survived by his eight children, Stephanie Groenert (Rick), Stephen Pitt (Karen), Michael Pitt, DDS (Martha), all of Evansville, Greg Pitt of Indianapolis, Mary Stephens (Bryan), Janet Coudret (Dave), all of Evansville, Dan Pitt (Lisa) of Santa Claus, Patrick Pitt (Ami) of Evansville. Seventeen grandchildren, Justin, Erin, Hannah, Alex, Adam, Abby, Nathan, Ben, Emily, Katie, Caleb, Maggie, Evan, Alexa, Logan, Natalie, Ian; five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Cameron, Charlotte, Avi, Landon; and his dog, Ollie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, Ind. Rev. Father Godfrey Mullen, O.S.B. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, Ind., (812) 424-9274.
