Steven Warren Carpenter, 74, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and his precious rescue dogs, Bella and Elsa.

Born in Evansville on March 5, 1951, Steven was the son of Robert Earl and Loyce Janine Carpenter. He graduated from Central High School in 1969 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in quantitative and qualitative analysis from the University of Evansville in 1974. He later completed his MBA at the same institution.

Steven enjoyed a long and successful career in the manufacturing industry, serving as a director of quality. A devoted husband and father, he built a warm and loving home with his wife, Houston, and remained deeply committed to his family throughout his life.

A lifelong Christian, Steven found great joy in spending time with his family and pets. His kind spirit and steady presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his cherished grandmother, Olive; and beloved pets Sister, Gidget, and Scout.

Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Houston; his children, Andy (Whittney) Carpenter and Hallie (Josh) Flynn; his grandchildren, Ethan and Nolan Carpenter, and Colin and Aven Flynn; his brother, Robert Wayne Carpenter; his nephew, Sean Adam Carpenter; and his stepmother, Helen Carpenter.

In accordance with his family’s wishes, Steven will be cremated. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Gentiva and Dr. Allen for their compassionate care and support.

Memorial contributions may be made in Steven’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or It Takes A Village No-Kill Animal Rescue.
